Director turns to chaos theory for casino film

There are times when a bit of disorder can be a good thing, or so hopes TV-actor-turned-movie-director Leung Wah-hung.

In the first media visit to the set of his as-yet-untitled film, Leung yesterday guaranteed that it would feature not just a mind-bending plot and delusional characters, but also 'a confusion which local audiences have never seen before'.

The movie stars veteran comic Eric Tsang Chi-wai, Rachel Lee Lai-chun and Nicola Cheung Sun-yuet. Their characters intertwine and develop distorted views of each other after meeting on a casino cruise.

'Confusion is good and I think young audiences love mind-benders,' Leung says.

Most scenes were shot on the cruise ship MV Jimei, parked at the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. Leung says he set the film in a casino because it is also about 'gambling your life away'.

Tsang (above) was wearing a wig 'for a change' yesterday, having filmed three movies this year as a natural baldie. There are apparently benefits to filming on a casino ship. CitySeen spotted the cast trying their luck on the poker table as Cheung learned from a croupier how to play baccarat.
