No Hong Kong property advert can do without a few pictures of Louis XIV's palaces, or mansions on the French Riviera. It's glamour by association. But now Sun Hung Kai Properties has upped the ante. A glossy brochure it put out this week features seven architectural wonders that include New York's Mandarin Oriental, the Grande Arche de la Defense of Paris and the parabola-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

The seventh wonder? None other than Sun Hung Kai's nearly finished showcase development, The Arch. Modesty has never been a virtue in Hong Kong, which may explain two photos in the brochure suggestive of sadomasochism, featuring a blindfolded lady (pictured) in an evening dress.

LoDown knows nothing about architecture so we can't say if The Arch fits the world-class-design bill. But it's definitely world-class by price: the first batch of flats is expected to sell for between $12,000 and $16,000 per square foot.
