Name: David Suen Ho-kwan

Age: 11

School: Pui Ching Primary School

Achievement: David and his teammates, Ho Siu-yu, Woo Wing-man and Evelyn Lu Ruoyun, all 11, won the Second Hong Kong Inter-School Scrabble Championships organised by Mattel and Broadlearning Education (Asia) last weekend.

David was the Scrabble Master with the highest word score in last year's event. The school chose him to be the team leader this year.

While his teammates have only played the game for a few months, David is a veteran.

His mum taught him how to play when he was in Primary One.

David thinks Scrabble is interesting and educational. He likes to look up new words in the dictionary. 'Scrabble is a fun game which has helped improve my English,' he said.

'I play at home and in school.'

Teacher's comment: Deputy headmistress of Pui Ching Primary School, LamMang-lor, said the team

co-operated well .

Ms Lam said the school had put in a lot of effort to promote reading and writing among students to help them master the English language.
