Hong Kong's fashionistas are likely to give their much-abused credit cards another workout this Friday, when Samsung Electronics makes available its limited-edition YP-W3  pocket watch MP3  player.  Only 30 pieces will be offered locally through the company's website (www.samsungelectronics.

com.hk). Priced at a hefty $6,800, the opulent-looking, platinum-plated YP-W3 is covered by a scratch-resistant sapphire glass to protect the eight diamonds each MP3 player is decorated with. Every buy will come with a certificate of quality for the diamonds. Beyond the precious stones, the YP-W3 is not just eye candy. It is equipped with one-gigabyte memory for audio files, SRS Labs' Wow three-dimensional surround-sound system, alarm function, FM radio tuner, Universal Serial Bus 2.0 interface and Li-polymer battery for playing up to eight hours of music per charge. It also supports digital rights management-protected Windows Media Audio-format files to let users legally download music from internet sites.
