Distinguished scientist Paul Harrison will give a public talk next Monday at the Audio Visual Centre in the Hong Kong Park.

Mr Harrison, also a conservation expert, is an adviser to the government on conservation of the fireboat Alexander Grantham, which is to be converted into a museum in Quarry Bay later this year.

His work includes conservation of the Palaikastro Kouros, an ivory and gold statue recently excavated in Athens. He has also prepared exhibits on Chinese wedding traditions and puppets at the Hong Kong museums.

Organised by the English-speaking Union, Mr Harrison's talk will cover the role of a scientist in a history museum.

Student tickets cost $75. To register, call 2186 8449 or send an e-mail to esuhk@netvigator.com
