The sequel to Get Shorty brings back loan shark, con man and movie director Chili Palmer (played by John Travolta in the movie). His project is a film about Linda Moon, a singer in a girl band who wants to launch a solo career. Knowing nothing about the music industry, Chili bluffs his way through with his only asset: the ability to be cool. He soon finds himself involved with the Russian mob, shady record promotion executives, gangsta rappers, an obese Samoan bodyguard and an organised crime detective. All are handled with his trademark panache. 'Chil, you're the most confident guy I know,' says one character. 'You have a cool way of making it sound like you know what you're talking about.'
