Woman's body found in flat with suicide note

The body of a 44-year-old woman was found yesterday afternoon in a flat at Fu Tak Estate, Tai Wo Hau. The body was discovered by police after a patrolling security guard reported a foul odour. Burnt charcoal and a suicide note were found at the scene.

probe into mail box fire

Police are investigating a fire in a mail box in Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan, after firemen found a cigarette butt inside the box when the fire was extinguished at 2pm. Police said dozens of letters were burned in the blaze.

New batch of smart cards

People born in 1947, 1948 or 1949 are required to apply for new smart ID cards between April 25 and June 18. Appointments can be booked by calling 1838 333, or visiting www.esd.gov.hk or an ESD kiosk.

motorcyclist injured

A 21-year-old man was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with a minibus in Sai Kung at 7.30am.

An arson investigation has been launched after three coaches were found ablaze shortly before 2am in Tze Tin Road, Tuen Mun.
