CANTONESE THEATRE

The Coffin is Too Big for the Hole is a one-man show in Cantonese performed by veteran stage actor Lee Chun-chow. It will be staged tomorrow and Thursday, at 7.30pm, at the Shouson Theatre of the Hong Kong Arts Centre.

The satirical drama is one of the most important works of the late Kuo Pao-kun who was an influential dramatist in the Singaporean arts scene.

Directed by Chan Ping-chiu, the story revolves around the funeral of an old man.

His eldest grandchild wants to provide a proper burial for his grandfather.

But on the day, he discovers that the coffin is too big for the hole allocated.

DRUMMING CLINIC

International drummer Steve Smith will host a drum clinic today, at 8pm, in the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.

Smith began playing drums at nine. He was selected as one of the Top 25 Drummers of All Time in 2001 and was voted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2002.

An autograph session will be held after the clinic. Tickets cost $80 can be obtained from Urbtix. For more information, call 2737 7602.
