When Austin Powers hit our screens a few years ago, his pint-sized nemesis, Mini-Me, inspired some unusual pub talk. People would jokingly question what they would look like as a smaller version of themselves. Now, the bizarre wish to see yourself a few centimetres high - and in 3D - can be fulfilled thanks to MiniQQ. The company is producing diminutive figures in different outfits and poses. You simply submit a clear photograph of yourself and, using computer technology, they construct a 3D caricature head, which is then placed on the shoulders of your body of choice. It may sound odd, but the trend has caught on. They are proving popular as graduation, marriage or birthday gifts, while people are also logging on to buy them for themselves. Prices range from $680 to $1,380. If you're looking for a quirky gift or just feeling a little eccentric, then procure yourself a mini-you. Narcissism has never looked so weird... but at least your pores will be significantly reduced. Available from Natural Cool, shop 230, Oriental 188 Shopping Centre, Wan Chai, tel: 2836 6885.
