Hebe Haven Yacht Club (HHYC) will host the first Laser Dinghy Youth Regatta on May 7 and 8.

Organised by the Hong Kong Laser Class Association, the regatta is a qualifier for both the Laser 4.7 World Championship in Boston, and the Volvo Youth Championship in Pusan, South Korea. Both events will be held in July this year.

The local race is open for both girls and boys, below 19 years of age, sailing in the Laser-class radial rig and standard rig. Entries must be connected to an association or club recognised by the Hong Kong Sailing Federation.

The regatta will take place off Port Shelter (Ngau Mei Hoi) near Shelter Island (Ngau Mei Chau).

Entry forms can be obtained from the HHYC office or downloaded from www.hhyc.org.hk. The deadline for entries is May 2. For more information, call Ale Shek, racing and sailing co-ordinator, HHYC, on 2719 9682 or e-mail to sailing@hhyc.org.hk
