Shaheen to take on Club for right to play in final
Recently crowned South China Premier League champions Shaheen take on arch-rivals Hong Kong Football Club in today's semi-finals of the Super League hoping to continue their recent domination of the Sports Road side at King's Park.
Having defeated HKFC 4-1 earlier this month to earn the local league title and a shot at the Super League crown, Shaheen will be looking to avenge last season's 3-2 defeat against the same side at this stage. However, Shaheen are the form team this year and the 14-times Hong Kong champions will be hoping to earn the right to meet all-conquering Guangdong, who are expected to overcome Valley in the other semi-final today.
Club and Shaheen start proceedings with the first semi-final at 4.30pm, before Guangdong take on Valley at 6.30pm.
Club have picked up their form recently after defeating Valley 4-1 in the Holland Cup semi-finals. Shaheen are also in the Holland Cup final to be played on May 1 after defeating HKFC B 9-3 in the other semi-final.
It's the first time Guangdong will have played in Hong Kong this season and they are heavily favoured to lift the Super League crown again in the final tomorrow.
