DREAMWORLD IS LIKE an amusement park, wildlife sanctuary, zoo and a stage for reality shows all rolled into one. It has the largest variety of adrenaline-pumping rides, indigenous wildlife, resident Bengal tigers and Australia's popular Big Brother reality-TV show. Exploration begins with a ride on a toy train that transports visitors to a close encounter with the park's wildlife. When we visited, the menagerie included a baby crocodile, a sleepy wombat and a one-year-old koala. Children learn about the animals' characteristics and behaviour from the keepers and are encouraged to pet the creatures. The ride on the chair lift back to the entrance is an adventure, while the Runaway Reptar roller coaster is a scaled-down version of the Cyclone, which features an intimidating loop. The Bengal tigers are one of Dreamworld's main attractions. Unlike tigers that perform in circuses, they can be seen in a very natural environment.
