Dress stress for Lee
Singer Hacken Lee said he wouldn't mind dressing in traditional costume for the theme song to a new South Korean television drama, despite some unpleasant experiences wearing such outfits.
Lee sings the theme for Doctor Hur, which follows on from the record-breaking Jewel in the Palace, aka Dae Jang Geum.
'I dressed in traditional Chinese costume about 10 years ago and I looked totally terrible.'
He said he might request a fitting session before the shoot if he's asked to appear in traditional Korean clothing. 'I seldom dress in traditional costumes. I'm not really used to it, but I've seen [TVB actor] Bowie Lam Bo-yee in those Korean outfits and he looks pretty good. I hope I'm OK in it.'
Lee (right), who also penned the lyrics, said the song was produced in just 31/2 days - the least time he's spent on a tune. 'We wrote the song after listening to the original soundtrack. I also watched a version of the drama series and studied the synopsis to get ideas for writing the lyric,' he said.
The drama, which follows the trials and tribulations of a doctor, will screen week nights at 10.05pm on TVB Jade from Monday.
