West Island School rocks

Steve Cray

Ciosa Houlihan, 16, from Sha Tin College struts her stuff with the three-piece all-female band Kesler's Clean at West Island School's Rock Aid event on Thursday night.

The event, comprising 12 bands from a number of Hong Kong international schools, raised in excess of $30,000 dollars for tsunami relief, bringing the English Schools Foundation's West Island total since January to more than $650,000.

The concert, which also featured principal Brian Driver and other teachers on stage as The Vegetables, was organised by 30 sixth formers and three teachers as part of a series of fund-raising events.

Money from the concert will go to help Sri Lanka-based projects supported by SOS Lanka-Action, a Hong Kong charity.
