Lady luck smiles on tourist couple

Flora Wu

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has been heavily advocating proper treatment of tourists, asking citizens not to rip them off when they are purchasing electronic goods, and adding a 'thank you' at the end of taxi rides. But Monday afternoon proved to be a real incentive to come back to Hong Kong for one holidaying couple.

Harbour City Mall in TST decided to reward the 20,050,000th shopper to enter its doors this year. Though there were some cheeky customers walking in and out of the mall to improve their chance of winning, the lucky guy was Frank Clausen (pictured here with his wife, Susanne) from Germany. Mr Clausen, who is in town for a wedding party, said he didn't know what the commotion was all about. 'I can't understand Chinese,' Mr Clausen told CitySeen. 'When they showed me the prize list, I thought I was supposed to choose one. What a surprise when they gave me everything!'

Mr Clausen's top prizes included a diamond pendant, a Bvlgari watch and a $10,000 gift certificate from Lane Crawford, just to name a few. Here's one couple that is sure to come back.
