A competition aims to recognise the aspirations and achievements of secondary school students who have contributed towards the development of information technology (IT).
It also aims to promote the use of IT in daily life.
The 2005 Hong Kong Outstanding IT Student Award is organised by the Hong Kong Joint School Electronics and Computer Society.
In the first round of the competition, participants need to submit two essays on the 'proposal of a coherent plan on how IT in communications can help promote academic effectiveness in your school', and 'suggestions to the mass media on measures to promote IT education in Hong Kong'.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews in mid-July, while the 10 finalists will compete for the title in an IT forum in August.
