Democratic Progressive Party assemblyman Shen Fu-hsiung dismissed an initial attempt to deny him entry to yesterday's seminar as 'politically regressive'.

He revealed that his application for entry to Hong Kong only succeeded after the intervention of CS Culture Foundation chairman Susie Chiang Su-hui.

'It's political regression' he said, noting that he had no problems five years ago. 'It shows [Beijing] fears an open-minded, challenging figure like me, and that does not say much for the confidence they should have in themselves.'
