Michael Kors on HK vs NY

A favourite among tai tais and international celebrities, Michael Kors chatted with CitySeen this week. The American fashion designer, who was staying at the Peninsula Hotel, is no stranger to Hong Kong, having spent numerous weeks here sourcing items for his collections. As he knows the city better than most out-of-towners, CitySeen asked what his favourite spots were. His choices were surprisingly down to earth.

'I just love Stanley,' he says. 'Every time I come here, I spend the whole day there looking around and soaking up the atmosphere. I would have to say that Hong Kong is one of my favourite Asian cities. In fact the reason I love it is because it's so similar to New York in terms of pace and atmosphere. '[But] the one thing Hong Kong has over New York is the lush vegetation and the great outdoors. You can be in the city one minute and up on The Peak or in the country the next.'

Kors plans to return in October for a special project, the details of which are under wraps for the moment.
