Fly like the wind
The Superamerica, another limited-edition model from the house of the prancing horse, is a convertible based on the 575M Maranello.
Ferrari released pictures and information about the Superamerica last year but waited until this year to roll it out for adoring fans to see at motor shows.
The Superamerica has an interesting take on the electric roof, which it has dubbed Revocromico.
The carbon-fibre roof does not fold away into the boot like most electric roofs, but swings back on a rear hinge to settle on top of the boot lid. The use of electrochromatic glass enables the driver to control how much light enters the cabin at the touch of a button.
Its 5,748cc V12 engine is capable of 540bhp, taking the Superamerica to a claimed top speed of 320km/h, making it the fastest drop-top in production.
Of the 499 production run planned by Ferrari, eight Superamericas will come to Hong Kong, according Italian Motors' Sancy Chan.
Italian Motors is trying to get another four to meet demand from potentially qualified customers. The first Superamerica is expected to arrive in Hong Kong in September. Ms Chan says early indications are that the Superamerica will cost about 10 per cent more than the Scaglietta 612, which costs $3,588,000.
