Choc-a-block

Hong Kong has two new up-market chocolate lines. Patchi, which began in Beirut in 1974 and now has 106 shops in 27 countries, has opened a branch at the Marco Polo Hongkong hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui (tel: 3101 5553). The shop sells individual chocolates, either plain (dark, milk or white) or flavoured with ingredients such as roasted coffee beans, pistachio croquant and hazelnut and bitter orange peel. If you want to present your selection in something a little (or a lot) more special than a Patchi chocolate box, the shop also carries a selection of imported crystalware, silverware and glassware, including brands such as Lalique, Bulgari and Cristal de Sevres.

Swiss-chocolate brand Teuscher has opened in the IFC Mall. The chocolates (left) are flown in each week from the workshops in Zurich. Teuscher is famous for its champagne truffles; other flavours include buttercrunch, Bailey's Irish Cream, jasmine tea, cinnamon, lemon and praline. Teuscher is at shop 2006, IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2462 6432.
