Five rob Kowloon trading company of electronic goods, threaten staff

Updated at 6.22pm: Five men broke into a trading company in Kowloon on Wednesday afternoon, threatened the staff physically and then stole electronic goods worth about $1 million.

The incident occurred on the third floor of an industry building at Wang Hoi Road, local radio reported.

The men threatened staff with knives, stun guns and what looked like a hand grenade, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.

Four male and one female staff were tied up while the robbers ran away with 100 boxes of electronic components, which were worth around $1 million.

One staffer and a visitor were slightly injured with a stun gun by the men, the spokesman said.

Police searched the site and found the stolen electronic components inside two vans in the industry building's parking lot.

Two men loading the goods were taken to the police station for investigation.
