Attention, parents: if you have to chase children around to give them a spoonful of food, the chances are you have been adopting the wrong feeding methods at meal times.
A survey released yesterday found 60 per cent of parents believe their children are picky eaters.
The consultant group Health Link Promotions, which conducted the survey, also found that more than half the 784 parents interviewed believe their children occasionally or often have no appetite for meals.
Paediatrician David Lee Ka-yan, who has done consultancy for the group but was not involved in the survey, said parents often worry too much about their children's nutritional intake and use the wrong incentives when trying to encourage them to eat, which makes them unwilling.
'They're way too worried - some think their children have problems when they refuse to eat one or two meals,' he said.
'But it's because these parents are under too much pressure.'
