A senior position for an inventory specialist has just come up.

A fast-growing retailer of beauty products and operator of health and beauty clubs is seeking a high-calibre candidate for the newly created position of director of inventory management.

SaSa Cosmetic Company's vision is to be the leading provider of health and beauty products and services in Asia.

'The company wants to manage our inventory control better so as to reduce costs and maximise sales, gross margins and inventory turnover; and give our top management a full picture of our business performance,' said vice-president of human resources Carmen Wong.

Duties of the new role include setting up an inventory control team, reducing inventory values and stock levels, and identifying and addressing slow or non-moving products.

A full knowledge of inventory management is essential, while at least seven years' experience in the cosmetics or related retail sector is sought.

A degree in business, retail management or logistics is a great plus, with an MBA another bonus.

'This is not a traditional warehouse management job; we need a much more analytical mindset,' Ms Wong said.

'You must have strong analytical skills and the ability to analyse data and give clear updates on inventory situations and trends.'
