Electronics firm needs new production head

A multinational company engaged in the manufacture of electronic components is looking for a production director.

The role involves managing overall production processes and plant operations in Shenzhen, said Anita Mok, a client service manager at Hong Kong-based recruitment specialists Gemini Executive Search & Selection.

'You will be responsible for overseeing production planning and the supply of raw materials,' Ms Mok said.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in an engineering discipline and 10 or more years' experience at a multinational organisation.

'You should also be highly experienced in identifying areas for process improvement and confident about leading improvement initiatives,' Ms Mok said.

As part of the role, the successful candidate should have the skills to ensure that raw materials are supplied according to the client's production schedules.

'You must also possess impressive abilities in production cost control,' she said.

Exposure to electronic components and/or electronic materials is an advantage, and applicants should be familiar with the ISO environment.

Strong leadership skills and a command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua are expected. Candidates should be prepared to relocate to the mainland and operate in Shenzhen through most of the working week.
