Education can reduce demand

I REFER to the article headlined, ''HK at hub of rhino trade'', regarding the illegal trade of rhino horns (South China Morning Post, October 21).

It saddened me to see the picture showing a dead, badly mutilated rhino.

It made me ask myself why are men so cruel? Don't they realise that by killing rhinos, they are destroying something that cannot be replaced? One effective way of curbing these attacks, is through education. If people can be taught not to buy illegal rhino products, then this could ease the problem. Where there is no demand, there will be no supply.

The Government should impose stricter regulations on the sale of such products. What we do now, will determine what happens in the future.
