The key to Oxyvital's system is a green technology based on zeolites, a naturally occurring mineral discovered in 1756 by Axel Frederic von Cronstedt. The name derives from Zyolitus - Greek for boiling stone. Zeolites are able to dismantle dangerous pollutants molecule by molecule as they pass through the lattice structure. Virus shells are broken down and neutralised with the help of clean oxygen. The process therefore differs from filter-based systems in that the zeolites alter the molecular structure of pollutants passing through the system, rendering them harmless. Gases going into the machine include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and formaldehyde. What comes out is oxygen and nitrogen.
