Old master entertains

HOLLAND'S modern-day Rembrandt, as he describes himself, is more commonly known as cartoonist and caricature artist Frans Mensink, and will entertain and sketch his subjects while they wait.

Flamboyantly dressed Frans, 40, who studied at the Grafik School and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, claims to be ''as crazy as the rest of us''.

He taught calligraphy before starting his own illustration and design studio, and now works for various magazines as well as KLM, the Dutch Government, and several travel agencies.

His humour and entertaining personality is sure to be a hit with all who pose for him at the Piazza, Kowloon Park.
