The owners of Veda Indian restaurant and Cafe O - both on Arburthnot Road in Central - have opened a second branch of the popular 'healthy lifestyle' cafe. The menu includes all-day breakfasts such as poached eggs on toast, spinach, mushrooms, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce ($78); Australian beef burgers with crispy bacon, tomato, caramelised onion and melted mozzarella served on homemade bread ($98); 'pizza by the metre' with toppings of tomato and basil, eggplant and rocket, potato and rosemary or salami (from $42 to $178 depending on the size; below); pastas, salads, sandwiches, snacks and desserts. There are also healthy fruit juices and smoothies ($29 for regular, $36 for large) such as 7th Heaven (pineapple, ginger and coriander leaves; right), Beet It (beetroot, apple, carrot and lemongrass), Hangover (watermelon, strawberry, lime juice, fresh chilli and salt) and Brain Wave (pineapple, kiwi, mint and ginger with pineapple sorbet).
