For those who lack office space at home but like to compartmentalise, designer Makio Hamiko has come up with something that might appeal: the Navigator PC Home Station (right). On what inspired the open-sided tent-like nook, he says, 'I have seen computers on the bedside cabinet, on the dining table, on the most unlikely occasional tables - in other words, with no dedicated space. That is why I thought up Navigator. Rather than a piece of furniture, it's a place. A place for putting the computer and for the moment dedicated to the computer.'

The Navigator PC Home Station costs $20,000 at Adee Design, 12 Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley, tel: 2838 2518.
