Local drama group launches Kwun Tong community project
A district drama group has organised a series of events to motivate residents to reflect on and have pride in their community.
Prospects Theatre has launched the programme If, Kwun Tong - Community Theatre Project which focuses on the people, history and development of Kwun Tong.
The theatre group, which is based in Cha Kwo Ling, will open the programme with short, free performances about Kwun Tong on July 9, 10 and 23 in malls and recreational venues in the district.
The group is inviting schools and organisations in area to submit original scripts related to Kwun Tong to join a competition to be held later in the year.
The 10 finalist teams of the drama competition will receive $3,500 each to cover the costs of staging their plays at Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre in October.
Prospects Theatre will also arrange six free workshops on acting and stage techniques for the finalists.
