Actor Anthony Wong Chau-sang last night told of his shock and anger after finding burglars had raided his Happy Valley flat, stealing watches and ornaments worth more than $300,000. Wong said he was thinking of moving out.

'I felt dizzy when I found my apartment in a mess. They even searched my shoeboxes and took out my shoes to check,' said Wong, who had left the flat at 9.30am and returned five hours later. 'My clothes were also scattered on the floor.'

The intruders took 15 watches, a diamond ring and a collection of mementos from overseas trips. A neighbouring flat in the five-storey block was also burgled.

Wong, 43, hit out at what he said was lax security in the building in Yik Kwan Avenue. He claimed there were no security guards posted or surveillance cameras.

Police believe the burglars followed tenants into the building and prised open the doors of the flats.

The burglars took 12 rings, a bracelet and other valuables worth $40,000 from the other flat.

Chen Zhengwu, 34, a jobless waiter from Hunan province , was yesterday jailed for four years for breaking into luxury homes and clubhouses in the Sheung Shui area.
