True Light girls urged to develop their full potential

It was a night a of mixed emotions at a joint school graduation ceremony for Kowloon True Light Middle School and True Light Girls' College at Sha Tin Town Hall.

The event celebrating the graduation of Form Five and Form Seven students was attended by their parents, friends and guests last week.

'On one hand, we are delighted that after having spent seven or five years in the school, we can now graduate and move on to a new life,' said Christina Fok of the Middle School.

'On the other hand, we feel extremely upset that we have to leave our familiar school environment, beloved teachers and wonderful classmates.'

The event began with a piano piece, followed by performances by the wind band, the joint school choir and the audience sang the chorus during the school anthem.

But the highlight came with a speech by guest of honour Tsui Lap-chee, vice-chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.

He spelt out the increasing importance and influence of women in society and reminded the students to develop to their fullest potential and equip themselves with good language skills.
