Lan Kwai Fong has officially selected July 30 for its Beer and Food Festival. What? Did you think that every day was a beer and food fest in good ol' LKF? Yeah, so did we, so we asked organisers just what sets this day apart from the rest.

Starting at 1pm, the streets of LKF will be lined with colourful outdoor tents serving food, drinks and a lot of fun. Carnival snacks such as hot dogs, hamburgers, pig knuckles, curries, satays, lobster balls, panini, fish cakes and more will be available at discounts ranging from $15 to $35. If you like what you're eating, Italian and Asian cooking demonstrations will be on throughout the day.

For those of you who've been practising beer guzzling every weekend, the moment of truth has arrived: organisers have set up various beer-drinking competitions. No pre-registration is necessary; just show up and raise your hand - and at $40 a pint, organisers are expecting a lot of participants. Winners receive $500 in vouchers to spend at Lan Kwai Fong's various outlets.
