Though many men may have 'worn a green hat' some time in their lives (and some without knowing it), it's unlikely you'll actually see a Chinese man with a green hat on his head. As the Chinese saying goes, any man wearing a green hat means their partner is being unfaithful.

This is why Hong Kong Disneyland will not stock green hats in their gift shops. After all, Disneyland is supposed to be a land of fantasy - why be reminded of an unpleasant reality?

We wondered how far the folks at Disney would take this green hat concern and asked if they will be changing the colour of Goofy's hat, which has traditionally been green. Disney tells us that Goofy will stay true to his character and there will be no modification of his costume. In other words, they won't be changing the colour of Goofy's hat. Talking dogs have always been endearing, but slap on a green hat and suddenly he's a goof.
