Jackets: 'I like classic, tailored jackets from Christian Dior, and the cut of Ralph Lauren. I like mixing jackets with plain shirts and jeans.'

Shirts: 'I love Gucci's shirts but I'm just as happy with a well-fitting shirt from Gap. I like shirts that are different or a little strange.'

Jeans: 'The most important thing to keep in mind when buying jeans is the cut and the finish. My favourite brand is Corleone, a French label.'

Sunglasses: 'I have a great pair from Prada and glasses from Christian Dior. I like them because they're minimalist and don't have a big label on the sides.'

Last thing purchased: 'I bought a dirty pink polo shirt from Ralph Lauren. People think pink is a strange colour on men, but I think if it's teamed with the right outfit, it can look really good.'

One thing I always carry with me: 'I have a small metal statue of Ganesh, the Hindu god. I take it everywhere with me.'

Most extravagant purchase: 'I recently bought a pair of fluorescent pink trousers from Dior.'

Books: 'It depends on my mood. Currently, I'm reading Scott Fitzgerald's A Diamond as Big as the Ritz and Marc Levy's If Only It Were True.

CD's: 'The music I listen to inspires me when I'm designing. I like anything from Maria Callas to soulful jazz.'

Cologne: 'It depends on the season. For spring and summer I like Aqua Di Parma. In autumn, I like Cuir De Russie by Chanel.'
