Calling all wannabe rockers
Disappointed you weren't a finalist for the INXS reality show? Well, here's your chance to be in the movie! Budding local filmmaker Mark Keil has written a script - tentatively titled Suicide Blonde - based on the life of INXS's late lead singer, Michael Hutchence, who committed suicide in 1997.
The former documentarian also wants to shoot the movie in Hong Kong. 'I read in your newspaper, actually, that Hutchence grew up here. So I basically took his life, fictionalised it a bit and wrote a script about it,' he says.
Although he is still seeking funding, Keil wants to start casting for about 85 roles. 'They are speaking roles. I need people from the age of 10 to 75, and they can be of any race.'
Interested thespians should go to the Pacific Coffee shop at 133 Nathan Road between 7am and midnight this Saturday or Sunday. If you have acting experience, you should bring photos or proof. Alternatively, you can e-mail Keil at firstname.lastname@example.org. No, he won't ask you to sing New Sensation in public.
