I hate to say this, but the Government Information Service does make our lives as journalists easier.

From today, journalists in the city can get all press releases, notices, transcripts, pictures, graphics and even video clips of news events from one website. This new $2 million portal incorporates the existing fax manager, digital photo system and text information system that have been in use since 1994.

This means we can now write the story in a coffee shop with internet access.
