No plans for road on trail

I REFER to the letters from Messrs. David O'Rear and Wolfgang Trost (South China Morning Post, October 23 and November 2 respectively) concerning the possible danger of a road being built along a section of the MacLehose Trail near Tai Long Wan in Sai KungCountry Park.

Please be advised that as the Country Parks Authority and the District Lands Office/Sai Kung Land Authority we have not received any application for the construction of a vehicular access near Tai Long Wan.

We wish to assure readers that development in country parks is generally not permitted and consideration will be given only if it is in the public's interest and does not cause significant adverse impact on the country parks.
