Enlighten the load

IFC's Dymocks bookstore hosted the recent launch of the new children's book Because We are Friends. The publication was put together by Enlighten, a self-funded NGO that was represented at the launch by its executive director, Orla Gilroy.

The organisation was formed to improve the lives of children affected by epilepsy, and the book aims to foster awareness of the condition and how to manage it.

Actress Karen Mok Man-wai is the group's celebrity ambassador and she tirelessly signed copies of the book all afternoon. The artwork for the publication was made possible by money from the Matilda Sedan Chair Race Charities Fund, while restaurant group The Mix offered refreshments to guests. The book is on sale for $50 from Dymocks.
