Torrential rain and wind proved too much for this banyan tree, which collapsed last night outside the Central Government Offices in Lower Albert Road, Central. The tree, 15 metres tall and with a trunk 1.7 metres across, fell close to the West Wing offices at the government's headquarters, blocking a path the width of two cars and damaging about 8 metres of railing and a lamp post. No one was injured.
