Media firm needs assistant financial controller

A leading media and marketing company with offices in more than 50 countries is seeking an assistant financial controller in Hong Kong.


'Our client is the leader in the marketing and event management industry with a client base spanning the globe. Growth in the company's business in Asia has led to the need for a high-calibre individual to take up the position,' said Steve Parkes of recruitment specialist Ambition.


The successful candidate will report directly to the regional financial controller in Australia and the Asia-Pacific managing director.


The position will require excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask. The assistant financial controller will prepare accounts for the Hong Kong office, including monthly management accounts, operating budgets, tax and cash flow projections.


The recruit will also need to manage the accounts receivable function for multiple divisions and oversee the accounts payable for Southeast Asia. Knowledge of SAP would be to the applicant's advantage. 'In addition, a key component of the role will be to provide supervision for all accounting matters in China including income projection, operating expenses and taxation,' he said.


An understanding of international, local and Chinese accounting regulations is a must. A professional accounting qualification is a prerequisite. Candidates should be able to start immediately and have at least seven years' experience with a multinational.
