Fiddling for gems

Call them Westlife with violins. New heartthrob classical duo, Duel, is in town. Craig Owen (left) and Greg Scott are the creation of Pete Waterman. Along with a couple of guys named Stock and Aitken, Waterman was responsible for such timeless artists as Rick Astley and Bananarama.

His new fiddling boys were at a school yesterday, but the rest of their time in Hong Kong seems to have been booked to hawk baubles. Today, the lads perform at a jewellery show for DTC, while tomorrow and Saturday, they will serenade guests at Carnet events.

Don't worry, though, this Manchester act is coming back in November for actual concerts with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, where they will surely play tracks like their version of the theme from Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence.
