Sports clothing brand Super-X will organise a three-on-three youth basketball tournament for teams from Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories on Monday - the day after the Mid-Autumn Festival - which is a public holiday.

The Super-X 10th Anniversary Charity Tournament, co-organised by the Youth Basketball Association, will be held throughout the day at the Chung Sing Path basketball court in Yuen Long.

Eighty-four teams will be divided into seven categories, including an elite group for First Division teams. Top clubs, such as Pacific, Youth and Playground Association, will take part in the event.

The other categories are senior (21 and over), youth (18 and over), junior (under-18), primary (under-12), women's (21 and over) and girls (under-21).

'We wanted to organise a youth tournament to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we have been overwhelmed by the response,' said Super-X marketing manager, Vivian Cheng.

'We held a similar competition last year. This time we have extended it by including a primary section. We promoted it throughout the SAR and received over 100 applications from teams.'

Proceeds from the sale of lottery tickets at the event will go to the Pok Oi Hospital charity.
