Taiwanese author-turned-legislator Li Ao tours the Forbidden City, where he said he supported the 'reunification' of the Forbidden City Palace Museum in Beijing and the National Palace Museum in Taipei. 'Fifty-six years ago, treasures were smuggled from Beijing to Taiwan,' Mr Li said. 'Not only should [we] have reunification of the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, but also the museums.' The sharp-tongued author is due to give a speech at Peking University today.
