NOWADAYS, television plays an important role in the world.

Because it not only can be a powerful learning tool, but also makes a strong and sometimes negative impression on young minds.

In recent years, there has been a tendency in some drama series to show aggressive and violent behaviour in some of the characters. This creates a bad impression and can influence young people. They see their screen heroes committing acts of violence andsome think it's okay for them to do the same.

TV also hypes up popular stars and young people go out and buy posters and souvenirs and so spend a lot of money.

Some young people watch so much television that they neglect their academic studies and this affects their performance at school.

The best way of avoiding these problems is for parents to act responsibly and choose what programmes their children can watch and what programmes they cannot.
