DON'Ts


Avoid hiking alone


Never leave a team member behind


Don't deviate from maintained paths or make detours


Don't exceed your physical limits


If you think you're lost, seek help and don't go any further


DOs


Form a hiking group of at least four


Bring essentials: water, food, a first-aid kit, a whistle, a mobile phone with a spare battery, a map, a compass, a radio and adequate clothing


Leave details like the planned route, participants and their mobile telephone numbers with a person not participating in the journey


At least one member should stay with an injured hiker while the others seek help
