I'm writing in response to the letter headlined 'Sports an important part of school life' (Young Post, September 22).

I believe students who are taking the HKCEE or A-Levels are under great pressure, but it is important that they use the right methods to ease their burden.

Playing sports is a good way to relax. Through inter-school competitions, we can learn how to co-operate with others while enhancing our communication and leadership skills.

Please include sports in your timetable and enjoy it!

Great to hear from you, Pak-hong. Doing exercise is a good way to de-stress - by focusing on your body, your mind has a chance to rest.

It also releases chemicals in your brain that keep you cheerful, and tired muscles may help you to sleep if you tend to lie awake at night worrying about your school work.

As you point out, team sports also teach you how to get on with others.

If you don't like competitive sports, playing frisbee on the beach or a casual game of basketball with friends can be fun and can help you relax.
