The grandson of the founder of Liu Chong Hing Bank was arrested for drink-driving yesterday after crashing his sports car near Repulse Bay.
The black two-seater Mercedes-Benz driven by 28-year-old Liu Wai-lun collided with a taxi on Repulse Bay Road shortly before midnight on Monday.
'The vehicle was going downhill when it went across to the opposite lane and collided with the oncoming taxi,' a police spokeswoman said yesterday.
The car was heading towards the Wong Nai Chung Gap when the accident happened near a private residence called Estrellita, she said.
Mr Liu suffered a head injury and the taxi driver, 38, sustained a neck injury. Both were taken to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment.
The taxi driver remained in hospital last night in stable condition. Mr Liu had been discharged.
