1992: Studied modern dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

1995: Clinched a scholarship to join the US Dance Festival

1996: Graduated from the advanced diploma course and joined the City Contemporary Dance Company

2001: Won the Hong Kong Dance Awards for his performance in Plaza X

Programmes: Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) degree, diploma, advanced diploma, professional diploma, certificate, advanced certificate, professional certificate

Duration: 1 to 3 years

Majors: Ballet, Chinese dance, modern dance, musical theatre dance

Admission: Entry for 2006 courses starts in March. Candidates may be invited to auditions and interviews from May to July

Annual tuition fee: $42,100 for degree programme, $31,575 for other programmes


There is usually no ranking within a dance group, but some experienced principal dancers may be more well-known among local audiences.

Dancers employed by a theatre group usually receive a regular monthly salary, irrespective of how many shows they perform.

Freelance dancers are paid per performance. The rate usually depends on the individual dancer's experience and reputation.
