Disturbed by noisy horns

I LIVE at the confluence of Castle Road and Caine Road in Mid-Levels.

There is a mini-bus stop just after these two roads converge.

During rush hours, every time a bus stops, all of the cars in the ensuing back up blow their horns continually until traffic moves freely. Having a bedroom facing this mess is truly maddening. Indeed, I wrote this at 7.30am as there was no hope of getting back to sleep.

In most major cities around the world there are fines levied against people for excessive noise pollution. Anyone who witnesses this daily ritual would agree that it is excessive.

As we are generally creatures of habit, and most people that I know go to work each morning the same way at the same time, I imagine that it is the same stressed out commuters who do this.

Thus, if a police person were to hand out citations one or two mornings during rush hour, the message would get around quickly and the residents of Caine and Castle roads could live in relative peace.
